Demos

From July to late August 2007, I worked in collaboration again with Celia Willis on a couple of projects. The first project was for the think tank Demos and invloved us visualising the weighty report:

As You like it
Catching up in an age of global english
by Peter Bradwell and Samuel Jones

Demos wanted to widen their audience and methods through which they communicate their work.
Celia and I took this opportunity to create a short film for eventual youtube broadcast.
Using humorous elements and mixing still image with motion and matching these to a narrative we hope to get across the synopsis of the complex and sometimes tough report in an easy and accessible way.

The New Economics Foundation

The second project we worked on, and will continue to consult on was for Perry Walker at the New Economics Foundation and concerns the AMAP.

The aMap – short for argument map, makes it easy for people to engage with and participate in complex, political and social arguments.
aMap was developed by Delib in partnership with the New Economics Foundation and the London School of Economics.

Perry is looking to now create an online version of the aMap and as with all complicated things made simple it’s not as easy as it sounds.
How to get across issues and arguments in an accessible way in a forum which represents the flow of real conversation, opinion and argument, allowing for additions to the structure of the map dependent on the outcome of these discussions…
We’re working on it!
